SockmanM-obitMary Elizabeth Roebke Sockman passed away on December 26, 2012.
She was born to Bessie Mary and William Roebke on October 7, 1920 in Bowling Green. She married John Sockman on October 4, 1939 and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2011.
Mary graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1938. She was a bookkeeper at Roger's Drug Store for 20 years, retiring in 1978. John and Mary moved to Dundee, Florida for 20 years and returned to Bowling Green in 1998. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Bowling Green.
Left to mourn her passing are sons, Bill (Sheryl) and Tom (Kim), both of Bowling Green, daughter, Judy (Gary) Scherff of Palm City, Florida; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the DUNN FUNERAL HOME, located in Bowling Green's Historical District at 408 West Wooster Street. Rev. Brent Pomeroy will officiate. Private burial will be at Weston Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service time.
Mary's family would like to thank the staffs of Wood Haven Health Care and Bridge Hospice Care Center.
The family request memorial contributions to Bridge Hospice Care Center, 1069 Klotz Rd., Bowling Green, OH, or the Wood County Humane Society.
