Mary Jane Panning, 86, of Deshler, died Monday evening, April 29, 2013 at Vancrest Health Care Center, Holgate.
She was born April 11, 1927 in Henry County, Ohio to Fredrick and Gladys (Lyle) Haughawout. On July 27, 1947 she married Arthur Panning and they shared over 63 years together before he preceded her in death on October 24, 2010.
Mary Jane was a 1946 graduate of Deshler High School. For many years she was a "spring cleaner" at Oak Grove Nursing Home and a fall seasonal worker at Dekalb Hybrids.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Deshler and always enjoyed bowling.
She is survived by her children: Debbie (Alan) Dishong; Marty (Connie) Panning; Tom Panning; daughter-in-law, Linda Panning; seven grandchildren, Chris (Karen) Dishong; Mike (Sara) Dishong; Katie (Kirk) Spieth; Kayleen Panning; Phillip Panning; Scott (LuCretia) Panning; Kellie (Jon) Bricker; eight great-grandchildren, Sarah, Lauren, Grant, Elliana, Isla, Derrick, Dalton, Amanda.
She was also preceded in death by son, Paul "Lennie" Panning; infant son, Fred; sisters, Pauline Clady, Wilma Blake, June Lederer; brothers, Frank "Ike" Haughawout, Robert Haughawout, Fred "Junior" Haughawout.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Deshler, with Pastor James Budke officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Henry County Hospital Foundation or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
