Beloved mother, Mary Elizabeth Harris, died on March 26, 2013, in Buford, Georgia. She was 81 years of age, and had been a resident at Brookside Assisted Living for the past five years.
She was born Mary Elizabeth Baier on May 19, 1931, in Belle Center, Ohio, to parents Hugh P. Baier and Blanche Alice (Snyder) Baier. Mary grew up in central and northwest Ohio, attending Springfield High School, and Bloomdale High School, where she was a graduate in 1949. She was married to Kenneth A. Harris on February 26, 1950, and they celebrated 48 years together until his death on July 24, 1998.
Ken and Mary were long time residents of the Bloomdale area, and Mary lived in Florida, Virginia, and Georgia after moving from Ohio.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Roberta (Bobby) Frantz Yoe, and is survived by her four children and their families: son, John and his wife Lynne, of Hoschton, GA; daughter Janet and her husband Larry Lehnert, of Key West, FL; son James of Fortuna, CA; and daughter Jennifer and her husband Randy Trosper, of Canyon Country, CA. Mary was blessed with eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, all of whom survive.
A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at MANN-HARE-HOENING Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, followed by memorial visitation in the funeral home until continuing on to Perry Center Cemetery, Perry Center, Ohio, where Mary will be buried next to her husband Ken. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. followed by a dinner at Union United Methodist church.
