Mary E. Cecil, age 93, formerly of Winona Lake, Indiana, passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Wood Haven Health Care in Bowling Green, Ohio.
She was a Pastor's wife and worked as a Personnel Coordinator and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. She supported mission work around the world, and she had a passion to play Scrabble.
Mary was formerly a resident of Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, Indiana and a past member of Pleasant View Bible Church of Warsaw.
The family would like to thank Wood Haven Health Care and Heartland Hospice both of Bowling Green, Ohio.
She was born on December 31, 1919 in Des Lacs, North Dakota to John Soltis and Sarah (Varnes) Soltis. She was married in San Antonio, Texas on February 5, 1943 to Walter R. Cecil for 65 years who passed away on September 18, 2008.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Marcia Hochhalter (Abbotsford, Wisconsin); Cindy (husband Sam) Baker (Bainbridge, Indiana); two sons: Dave (wife Rachel) Cecil (Findlay, Ohio); Dan Cecil (Jacksonville, Florida); 11 grandchildren; and 6 great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, and her brother.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Dave Cecil. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw, Indiana.
There will be two hours of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home.
Memorials in Mary's name may be directed to Wood Haven Health Care, 1965 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402-9396 and would be appreciated by her family.
