Mary Alice Carey, 85, of Arlington passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the
Bridge Hospice Care Center, Bowling Green.She was born on July 18, 1928 to the late Park and Amber (Groman)
Williams in Hancock County. She married Raymond Carey on August 13, 1948 and he preceded her in death on
November 28, 1997.She is survived by two sons: James "Jim" (Pattie) Carey of Bowling Green and
Patrick "Pat" (Christine) Carey of Upper Sandusky; nine grandchildren: Michelle Carey, Valerie
Carey, Tim (Sarah) Carey, Ryan Carey, Randy Carey, Mandie (Blake) LaVergne, Ashlie (Luke) Wentz, Sierra
Carey and Gavin Carey; and seven great-grandchildren: Bradley, Emma, Adam, Nicholas, Travis, Graham and
Alexander.She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Rayle.Mary was a 1946 graduate of Arlington High
School.She worked as a secretary for Marathon Oil Company, a clerk at Traucht’s IGA, food service for
Arlington Schools and assisted her husband Ray with their business, Ray’s Custom Rods. She also volunteered
at the Nearly New Shop.Mary loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.Visitation will
be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where funeral
services will follow at 3 p.m. Pastor Douglas Stockton will officiate.Memorial contributions may be made to
