Marjorie Strauch, 77, of North Fort Myers, Florida, and most recently of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away
Sunday, January 5, 2014.
Marjorie was born on December 13, 1936 in Melrose Park, Illinois to the late Harry and Helen (Harding)
Holscher.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters: Lisa Newton, of Hart, Michigan; Bonnie (David) Fintel, of Custar,
Ohio; Julie (Douglas) Smith, of Boise, Idaho; a son: Michael (Mary Katherine) Newton, of Oldenburg,
Indiana; grandchildren: Ashley (Fintel) Graber, Sarah Husain, Taneem Husain, Ryan Fintel, Victoria
Smith, Batoul Husain, Samantha Smith, Benjamin Newton, Zainab Husain and Andrew Newton;
great-grandchildren: Lucas and Brooklynn; a sister Virginia Basso, of Phoenix, Arizona and a brother:
Richard (Donna) Holscher, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Marjorie received her nursing degree from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing and later went on to earn
her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Central Michigan. Marjorie worked in physician’s offices, nursing
homes and hospitals in Ohio, Michigan and New York before retiring to North Fort Myers, Florida, 15
years ago.
Marjorie was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in North Fort Myers, Florida. She
enjoyed golfing, riding her bike and reading.
Visitation for Marjorie will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 3 p.m. until the time of her
Funeral Service at 5 p.m. in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY REMEMBRANCE CHAPEL, 1460
W. Wooster Street/P.O. Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402, Tele: 419-352-2171.
Interment will be held at a later date and will be private for the family.
Memorial contributions in Marjorie’s honor may be given to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322
Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, New York, 10001.
