Marjorie J. Kern, 80, of Deshler, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013.
Marjorie was born in Portage Township to the late Arloe and Rachel (Long) Tyson. She married William Kern on April 12, 1952 in Blackstone, Virginia and he survives in Deshler.
Also surviving Marjorie is her two sons: William Kern Jr., of Findlay and James Kern of McClure; three daughters: Debra Sebring of Archbold, Rebecca Smith of Deshler and Beverly Smith of North Baltimore; a sister, Marilyn Campbell, of North Baltimore; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert, her sister, Doris Arnold and a grandchild.
Marjorie was a secretary for the H.J Heinz Company in Bowling Green, Libbey, McNeil & Libbey law office in Leipsic, H.P Armstrong Attorney at Law, Thatcher Insurance in Deshler and Hoeffel, Funkhouser, Short and Hanna Attorneys at Law.
Marjorie was a member of the Oakdale United Methodist Church in Deshler and the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary.
She was a 1950 graduate of Portage Township School and enjoyed crossword puzzles, astrology, canning and gardening. Marjorie was a very family oriented and loved spending time with them, especially with her grandchildren.
Visitation for Marjorie will be held Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 2 to 6 p.m. in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1460 W. Wooster St., PO Box 648 Bowling Green, OH 43402, Tele: 419/352-2171. Funeral Services for Marjorie will be Monday. April 22, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME REMEMBRANCE CHAPEL. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Deshler.
Memorial Contributions may be gifted in Marjorie's honor to Henry County East EMS or to the charity of the donors' choice.
