Marjorie G. Maidment of rural Bowling Green, OH passed from this earthly life on Friday, Jan. 17 at
Heritage Corner, Bowling Green. She was born on May 5, 1925 in Jackson Twp., Hancock County, OH to Jason
and Luella (Hinkley) Snyder, the youngest of 5 children born to that marriage and seven half-siblings of
her father’s previous marriage. She was the valedictorian of the 1943 Mount Blanchard High School
graduating class and also attended Bowling Green State University. She enjoyed an admirable career as
the manager of the Bowling Green Sears Store for many years.
She was a former member of the Soroptomist Club of Bowling Green.
She was a member of the National, Ohio, and Wood County Associations of Realtors during her lengthy real
estate career.
She was also a current member of Christ United Methodist Church in Portage, OH.
She married Clarence E. Maidment on Jan. 1, 1954 and he was killed in an automobile accident on Aug. 7,
1954. She then married Mearl Maidment on April 2, 1964 and he died on Jan. 9, 2005. She is survived by
four stepchildren: Daniel (Sharon) Maidment of Temecula, CA; Ruth Ann (Alan) Kramer of Bowling Green,
OH; Dorothy (Donald) Robasser of Cranbury, NJ; and Richard (Marisa) Maidment of Perrysville, OH.
Nine step-granchildren survive: Dawn (Mark) Knoeller, Amy Maidment, Anne (Hans) Huth, Tom (Cathy) Ruble,
Janelle (Danny) Picard, Marcie Messer, Michael (Heather) Kramer, Angilee (Phil) Crutchfield, and Adam
(Amber) Maidment.
Twelve step-great-grandchildren survive: Lia, Nathaniel Jr., Kaitlyn, Noah, Elena, Corinna, Joey,
Sebastien, Addison, Xavier, Wyatt and Gretta. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Glenna Snyder of
Findlay, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 11 siblings, husbands Clarence and
Mearl, and step-greatgranddaughter, Madelyn.
Visitation will be held at the Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 from 2-4 pm
and again from 6-8 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Christ United Methodist Church in
Portage on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 10:30 am with Rev. Dr. Bruce McDaniel officiating.
Additional visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Memorials to the church or Bridge Hospice are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that
donors honor and brighten the day of a living friend or relative with flowers and a visit.
