Marion O. Heyman was born on January 8, 1926 in Grand Rapids, Ohio to Glen and Blanche Heising Heyman.
Marion was a WWII Navy Veteran and served on the SS Laport.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 232, Grand Rapids Volunteer Fire Department and St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 31 years Nancy Vollmar Shultz Heyman, daughter, Marlene Curtis of Bowling Green, Ohio, step children; Tina Shultz of Bowling Green, Mark (Sharon) Shultz of Grand Rapids, Ohio and Jamie (Jane) Shultz of Grand Haven, MI., two grandchildren, Brent (Shannon) Curtis and Angie Curtis, step grandchildren, Kris Shultz, Jenny (Andy) Simmons and Blake Shultz and great-granddaughter Macie Sue Simmons.
Marion was active in the maintenance of the Heyman Memorial Church in Monroeville, Ohio, and he helped work the family farm in Grand Rapids, Ohio, and also enjoyed the annual family fishing trip to Canada.
Marion Heyman was married to Maxine Metzger on Oct 5, 1948 and she died Sept. 1980.  Marion worked for Northern Telephone Company then General Telephone for 35 years retiring in 1983.  He was a local manager at Grand Rapids then promoted to Assistant District Manager at Bowling Green.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 2 to 5 p.m and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wright-Habegger Funeral Home, 24084 W. Second St. , Grand Rapids , OH, where the Fire Department Last Alarm Service will take place at 7 p.m. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 22, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Grand Rapids, OH.
Memorial donations can be directed to the St. Patrick's Cemetery Fund, Grand Rapids Fire Department, American Legion Post #232 or NW Ohio Honor Flight.
