Marilyn "Jean" Ray, 81, of McCutchenville Road, Wayne, died Wednesday (May 29, 2013) at Fremont Memorial Hospital, Fremont, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 29, 1932 in Fostoria, to Bruce and Leota (Ault) Musser. She first married Orland Mitchell and he died in August of 1955. She then married Don Devore and they divorced. Then she married Robert Ray and he died in 1988.
Surviving are a son, Michael (Lisa) Mitchell of Fostoria; daughters, Diane (Bill) Sheets of Fremont; Vicki (Tom Dibling) Baeder of Wayne; and Julie (John) Barnes of Carey; a sister, Donna Brannan of Findlay; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a brother, Dick Musser, and grandchildren, Kristine Elizabeth and Elizabeth Marie.
Mrs. Ray retired as a clerk at Holman's Market in Wayne.
She attended Fostoria High School and was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church.
Her other memberships included being a life member and past president of VFW Ladies Auxiliary for more than 50 years. She also was a member of Fostoria Eagles Club and TOPS of Wayne. She was a former Girl Scout leader and Red Cross swimming instructor.
She was an avid reader and a lifelong Cleveland Indians Fan. Jean loved history and to travel, her biggest pleasure was her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, Ohio. Pastor Michael Malcosky will officiate. Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home
