Margaret Horner, age 85, of Fostoria passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Bridge Hospice Care Center,
in Bowling Green, Ohio.
She was born in Lansing, New York on June 12, 1928 to Michael and Theresa (Kosa) Farkas. She married
Robert D. Horner in Portage, Ohio on July 11, 1948 and he died on July 2, 2006.
She and Robert were the parents of one daughter, Sandra R. Howard, who passed away June 9, 2008.
Margaret was a 1946 graduate of Bowling Green High School. She retired in January 1994 from the Fostoria
office of AAA Auto Club. She was previously employed at the S.S. Kresge Co., Ahlenius Co. and
Tropic-Aire, all in Fostoria.
She was a member of VFW Post 421 Ladies Auxiliary. She and her husband were members of the
Swinging-Saddlelites Square Dance Club and enjoyed many years of dancing.
Margaret was an avid bowler for more than 40 years. She enjoyed watching football games and golf
tournaments on TV, sewing, cross stitching and crossword puzzles. She looked forward to playing cards
and going on vacations, day trips and casinos with her sisters.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly
missed by her family and friends.
Margaret was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Fostoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert and daughter Sandra; and sisters Yolanda
Dulaney, Elizabeth Frank, and brother Stephen Farkas, of Bowling Green.
Surviving are grandchildren, First Sergeant Phillip L. Roberts, U.S. Army stationed in Texas, and Amber
(Devon) Childers, Fostoria; great-grandchildren Destiny Brady and Christian Buess of Fostoria; Brice
Pearson, Fostoria, Bishop Childers, Fostoria; Phillip Roberts Jr. and India Roberts of Texas, Demi
Roberts of Texas; and sisters Irene (George) Farr and Carol Lashuay, of Bowling Green.
Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at MANN-HARE-HOENING FUNERAL
HOME, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 in the funeral home.
Burial will be at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia.
