Marcella Stein Clingenpeel, 76, formerly of Smithfield, Va., passed away May 23, 2013 at Heartland of Waterville, where she received wonderful care.
Marcella was born in Maumee, Ohio to the late Frank and Alice Stein.
On April 9, 1969, she married Lowell W. Clingenpeel in Sylvania, Ohio. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2012.
She is survived by daughters, Dr. Michele (Matt) Ptaszkiewicz, of Fort Collins, Colo., and Melissa (Alex) Huffman of Smithfield, Va.; five grandchildren, Donovan and Carissa Ptaszkiewicz; Evangeline and Dauvin Wurst; and Hunter Huffman; sister-in-law, Darlene Clingenpeel of Peoria, Ill. Also surviving are brothers, Ed (Doris) Stein of Sarasota, Fla.; Jim (Mary Lue) Stein of Custar, Ohio; Charles (Jeanette) Stein of Custar; sisters, Mary Seifert of Luckey, Ohio; Pat Stein and Betty (Duke) Haas, both of Perrysburg.
Marcella graduated from Portage Township School in 1954, and received degrees in education from BGSU and Michigan State University.
She was an elementary teacher in Deshler and Sylvania, Ohio, Canton and Livonia, Mich., and Charlottesville and Smithfield, Va.
Services will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 150 S. Enterprise, Bowling Green, on Thursday, June 6 at 4 p.m. The service will be followed by dinner and reminiscing at Center Township Hall, Bowling Green Road East and Carter Road.
