Lyle G. Pheils, 55, of Jerry City, was born on May 19, 1958 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Lyle G. and Josephine A. (Freeman) Pheils. After an ongoing battle with heart disease, Lyle received a heart transplant on his 55th birthday that sadly was followed by his passing while surrounded by his family, Monday, August 19, 2013.
Lyle was always strong in his faith; he was a member of the Calvary Church in Maumee, Ohio. Lyle believed deeply that God would always see you through if you were willing to believe.
Lyle was in the automotive industry for 39 years. He was the owner of Five Point Tire & Auto Service. He was also the founder and president of the Great Lakes Children's Alliance for missing children. Lyle also served as a youth minister as well as a former broadcaster for WJYM.
Lyle was always searching for more ways to be involved in the community. Most everyone who met him knew he felt strongly that everyone should try and be a descent person, you help when you can, you protect the ones that need protecting, and family is important, family is everything. Lyle welcomed many people into his life and into his family.
Lyle was a dedicated husband to his loving wife Holly (Davis) Pheils of 29 years. He is survived by his seven children: daughters: Christal (Jeremy) Flanigan; Janette (Brent) Miller; Jennifer Freitag; Stephanie (Jonathan) Ware, Cynthia (Joseph) Wallace; his son: Lyle G. (Kristen) Pheils III; and adopted Michael (Christina) Thomas and 13 grandchildren. He was also survived by his brother: Gary Pheils; sisters-in-law: Marie and Betty Pheils; mother-in-law: Helen "Cracker" Davis and father-in-law: Merle (Sandy) Davis.
The Family would like to express a special thank you to the doctors and staff at the Cleveland Clinic for their compassion, support and dedication.
Visitation for Lyle will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1460 W. Wooster Street/P.O. Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402, Tele: 419-352-2171. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME REMEMBRANCE CHAPEL. Interment will follow in the Lake Township Cemetery.
