Lt. Cmdr. Roy Dale Snyder, 90, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Haskins, passed away Thursday (Dec. 12, 2013.)
He was born in 1923 to John and Bessie (Risor) Snyder.
In 1944 he married Martha Speck and she preceded him in death.
He served in the Navy in World War II as a Lt. Cmdr. aboard the Coral Sea.
He also was preceded in death by sons, James and Mike; brothers, Ray Snyder, Howard Snyder and Earl George Snyder; sisters Ethel Gearhart and Dorothy Buehrer.
Surviving are his daughter, Jeanette Britton, Arlington; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Janet Yates, Bowling Green; Alice Strella, Platte City, Mo.; Mary McLemore, Bryan, Texas; six brothers, Robert Snyder and Lynn Snyder, both Bowling Green; John Snyder Hayesville, KS; Lee Snyder, Youngtown, AZ; Carl Snyder, Oro Valley, AZ; and Paul Snyder, Germany.
Graveside services were held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
