Lowell Elmer Buckingham, age 78, of Wayne, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday (April 19, 2014) at
his home.
He was born on May 11, 1935 in Bloomcenter, Ohio to the late Curt E. and Freda A. (Whitney) Buckingham.
Lowell married Sharon K. Shane on April 13, 1957 at the Wayne Church of Christ.
Surviving Lowell are his loving wife of 57 years, Sharon; sons, Ricky L. Buckingham and Ryan G.
Buckingham, both of Wayne Ohio, and Dennis (Peggy) Shane of Kansas, Ohio; daughters, Robin S. Buckingham
and Deana (Dennis) Hickman, both of Wayne, Ohio and Deanna Shane of Lima, Ohio; brother, Lewis (Ruah)
Buckingham of Bowling Green, Ohio; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special niece, Denene
Shane of Wayne, Ohio.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Curt & Freda; sons, Ronnie Allen Buckingham, Randy
Owen Buckingham; brother, Carl Buckingham; sister, Raedel Bishop.
Lowell was a 1953 graduate of Montgomery Local, and attended Bowling Green State University for three
years. He then worked for Brush Wellman for 38 ¬? years.
Lowell was a member of the Church of Good Shepherd, and enjoyed all sporting events. In particular he was
a big fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavs.
Lowell was one of the founders of the Southwood Little league, and he coached little league in Wayne for
30 years. He was a past president of the Elmwood Athletic Boosters, and was one of Elmwood’s biggest
fans.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday (April 24, 2014) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne,
Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday (April 25, 2014) at 11 a.m. with Pastor
Ron Merritt officiating.
Burial will be in Graham Cemetery near Wayne.
Immediately following the service there will be a bereavement luncheon at the Church of Good Shepherd.

Memorial donations may be made to the Church of Good Shepherd, or the Wayne Little League.
