Linda Downs Hoile

Linda Downs Hoile, 70, of Bowling Green and formerly of Tontogany, Ohio, died February 21, 2014 at the
Bowling Green Manor Nursing Home in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Linda was born on December 23, 1943 in Bowling Green, Ohio to Daniel and Marjor (Heiman) Downs. As a
child she was raised by her mother and Victor Emm. On June 8, 1996 she married James Hoile at the
Tontogany Presbyterian Church.
Linda graduated from Otsego High School in 1961 and worked for over 34 years at Bowling Green State
University as a secretary in the Romance Languages Department.
She was a member of the Tontogany Presbyterian Church and served on the church Session, Vacation Bible
School, taught Sunday School, and also gave the children’s message.
Linda was a devoted cat lover and will be missed by her cats Chloe and Romeo.
Linda is survived by her husband, James Hoile, her stepchildren Jeff (Sue) Hoile of Perrysburg, and Holly
(Jay) Vandersall of Wayne, her stepgrandchildren Chelsea and Erin Vandersall, and Brandon, Elijah, and
Aidan Hoile and her brother Jim (Doreen) Downs.
Friends and family are invited to call upon Linda’s family on Tuesday February 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at
the Peinert – Dunn Funeral Home, 18620 Washington St., Tontogany, OH.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held that evening at 7 p.m. with Pastor Pam Short officiating.
Memorial contributions are encouraged to the Tontogany Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers please.
