Lester Olen Hall, age 91, of Perrysburg, Ohio, died Monday, December 17, 2012 at Whitehouse Country Manor.
He was born on October 13, 1921 in Portage, Ohio to Harry Clyde and Alice (Pierce) Hall. Lester married his loving wife, Sophia (Koons) Hall on March 24, 1944. They celebrated 68 years of marriage on March 24, 2012.
On December 16, 2012 he was acknowledged by Hospice of Northwest Ohio for his Services during WWII. He was a disabled American veteran.
Lester was a meticulous glass backer for 30 years at L.O.F.
He was a loving husband and enjoyed being with his family. He cherished the many birthdays and anniversary parties. Lester and his wife Sophia are well known as part of the National Square Dancing Association. They traveled all over the country with the dance clubs, most recently the Diamond Cutters, Circle 8 and the Buckeye Squares.
Lester is survived by his wife, Sophia; children, Fred (Karen) Hall, Mary (Gary) Karnes, Betty (Bob) Garrett and Thomas (Patty) Hall; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Irene Simpkins.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Leonard Hall and Joseph Hall.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m.. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December, 21, 2012 in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio (419-874-3133) where visitation will continue at 12 p.m. on Saturday, December, 22, 2012 followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. Burial will be private.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider First United Methodist Church, Perrysburg, Whitehouse Country Manor and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
