Leonora Bressler, 89, passed away on May 9, 2014 at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Toledo, Ohio following a
traumatic fall at her home.
She was born May 27, 1924 to Frank and Nellie (Ballard) Lewton in Omaha, Nebraska.
She is survived by her son, Larry J. (Judith) Turner, of Bowling Green, Ohio; grandchildren, A. Tye
(Shelly) Turner, Toledo, Ohio; Julie M. (Michael) Craig, Houston, Texas; Andrew J. (Christy) Turner,
Powell, Ohio; stepgrandchildren, David (Mai) DeLong (Kagamino-cho, Japan) and Richard DeLong, Hilo,
Hawaii; as well as seven great-grandchildren.
Leonora was preceded in death by her parents, a son, George T. Turner, husband, Leonard G. Turner, second
husband, Dale Bressler, her twin brother, Leonard G. Lewton, sister, Florence Welchert, and brother, A.
Carl Nelson.
After high school, Leonora went to Seattle, Washington to work for Boeing Aircraft. She was "Rosie,
the Riveter," helping to build bombers to win World War II. She met her first husband, Leonard G.
Turner, who was serving in the Navy. They were married five days after their meeting in 1943. This
marriage lasted 21 years when Leonard passed away from lung cancer in 1964. She married Dale Bressler in
1967, but sadly he passed away from cancer in 1975.
Lee, as she was called, worked at BGSU Student Union in the Pheasant Room for approximately 30 years,
retiring in 1986.
She was a member and attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Bowling Green. She was also a lifetime
member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1148 Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling for many years.

Her biggest joy was going to the Wood County Senior Center to be with her friends.
There will be a private graveside service.
Arrangements are being handled by Dunn Funeral Home Bowling Green.
Memorial contributions may be given in her honor to the Wood County Senior Citizens Center.
