Lawrence B. Raabe
Lawrence B. Raabe, 85, of North Baltimore, died at 3:12 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. He was born on June 10, 1927, in Wood County to the late John and Mildred (Blosser) Raabe. He married Lucille Meyer on July 9, 1950, and she preceded him in death on April 5, 2009.
Lawrence is survived by his son, Steve (Connie) Raabe of Bloomdale; his granddaughter, Jennifer (Ian) Paul-Warren of Delaware; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Allen Raabe; his brothers, Harold and Eugene Raabe; and his sisters, Bertha Eileen Fields and Eloise Hazelton.
Lawrence was a former barber in North Baltimore and then worked for Whirlpool.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Baltimore Masonic Lodge #561, and North American Legion Post 539. He was an avid fisherman.
A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, with Pastor Ralph Mineo officiating. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore, where full military rites will be conducted by the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
