laverne-rojewski-obitLaVerne E. Rojewski, age 91, of Wayne, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday (January 24, 2013) at Bowling Green Manor surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 24, 1921 in Wayne to the late Charles and Anna (Steinmeyer) David. She married Robert C. "Baldy" Rojewski on October 28, 1975 in Bowling Green and he passed away on May 1, 1975.
Surviving are son, Doug (Judy Blausey) Rojewski of Wayne; daughter, Pat (Jack) Gorrill of Wayne; grandchildren, Jeffery Gorrill, Michelle Gonyer; great-grandchildren, Chelsa O'Leary, Travis Gonyer, Kortney Gonyer and a great-great-grandchild soon to be born.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Gilbert, Carl, Norman, Edwin, Robert, Paul; sisters, Esther Gore, Ruth Spengler, Leona Spahn & Dorothy Vosburg.
LaVerne retired after 28 years at Fostoria Industries. She also worked at the Clover Farm Store and several restaurants in Wayne.
She was a member of the Wayne Church of Christ, Wayne Senior Citizens and she helped with the Wayne Food Distribution. She graduated in 1940 from Montgomery Local High School.
Family and friends will be received from 2-6 p.m. Sunday (January 27, 2013) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (January 28, 2013) with Minister John Amstutz officiating. Burial will be in Graham Cemetery near Wayne with a bereavement luncheon to follow back at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Wayne Church of Christ, Wayne Public Library or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
