Laurie G. Wilson
Laurie G. Wilson, 66, of Bowling Green, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 at home surrounded by his family.
Laurie was born August 19, 1946 in Warsaw, IN to Lydia A. (Lewis) and Laurie L. Wilson. He attended Pierceton High School, IN.
In 1966 he was drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam for two years. For his service he received several honors.
June 29, 1968 he married the love of his life, Diana K. (Robinson), who preceded him in death August 7, 2012.
Laurie worked 27 years as a truck driver and Diesel mechanic for Omnisource, beginning in Fort Wayne, IN and transferring to Toledo in 1983. He then started his own business, W & W Family Trucking, as an owner/operator truck driver. The majority of his work was through GLN Trucking, Tontogany. He retired last year.
Laurie was a member of The American Legion Post 441 and VFW Post 1148.
Laurie is survived by his sisters, Barbara (Glenn) Bellamy of Warsaw, IN and Juanita Stellar (Floyd Cornett) of Denver, IN; his sons, Laurie D. (Brandy) of Weston, Floyd (Beth) of Portage, Shawn (Julie Bowers) of Perrysburg; daughter, Bessie (Cory) Cook of Bowling Green and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah and Cory.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at DUNN FUNERAL HOME, Bowling Green. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with internment following at Wood County Memory Gardens.
The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting a meal following the services at Post 441, Tontogany.
