Larry W. Swartz, age 61, of Luckey, OH, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at his residence.
He was born on December 6, 1951 in Toledo, OH to Vernon and Desta (Dierksheide) Swartz. On July 3, 1976 he married Sharon E. Runion in Genoa, OH and she survives.
Larry was a 1969 graduate of Eastwood High School. His employments included being a mechanic for the State of Ohio and a maintenance person for Troy Township.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Luckey, OH and President of the Luckey Fall Festival for 19 years. Every spare moment he had he devoted his time and energy in planning the next Luckey Fall Festival and loving his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 36 years: Sharon, daughter: Heather (Mike) Hubbs of Pemberville, OH, grandchildren: Erika, Hannah, Bailey, brother: Roger (Gail) Swartz of Luckey and sister: Kay Ann (Mike) Dent of Groveport, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Vernon and Desta Swartz.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey, OH where memorial services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 11 a.m.. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew Deames. The Swartz family request casual jean attire for both days. Interment will be in Troy Twp. Cemetery, Luckey. There will be a bereavement luncheon served at Zion Lutheran Church, Luckey immediately following the cemetery committal services.
Considerations for memorial contributions are: Luckey Fall Festival or the American Cancer Society.
