Kevin-Schwiebert-obitKevin R. Schwiebert, 35, of Florida, Ohio died on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Toledo Hospital from injuries sustained in a fall at his residence on Sunday, October 6, 2013.
He was born on March 7, 1978 in Napoleon to Stephen and Julie (Westhoven) Schwiebert. On September 16, 2000, he married Jennifer (Bahler) Schwiebert at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio.
Kevin was a graduate of NHS and obtained an associate's degree from NWSCC in 2000 and a Bachelor's degree from Defiance College in 2012. He received the 2007 NWSCC Distinguished Alumni Award and 2012 Defiance College Outstanding Undergraduate Adult Student Award.
He worked as an Area Maintenance Manager and has been employed at Campbell Soup Company, Napoleon since 2002. He was a former mayor and council member for the Village of Florida and volunteer member for the Florida-Flatrock Fire Department, where he was the 2013 recipient of the NOVFA Top Dog Award at the annual antique fire muster. He was also a member of the Sons of The American Legion and St. Augustine Catholic Church, both of Napoleon, and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; children, Olivia, Todd, and Rylie Schwiebert; parents, Stephen and Julie Schwiebert of Napoleon; sisters, Heather (Scott) Diemer of Florida and Jennifer (Brent) De Vries of Bowling Green; maternal grandmother, Jean Westhoven of Napoleon; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Kathy Bahler of Napoleon.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Richard and Wilma Schwiebert and maternal grandfather, James P. Westhoven.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Recker officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery with Pastor Peter Marcis officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, where a Fireman's Last Call service will be held at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Florida-Flatrock Volunteer Fire Department, Life Connections of Ohio, or to the "Schwiebert Children's Benefit Fund" c/o First Federal Bank.
