Judith Papenfus

Judith Papenfus, 72, of Fostoria, died on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Fostoria Community Hospital.
Judy was born in Fremont on Nov. 28, 1941 to Gerald and Helen (Sutter) Schmitz.
She graduated from Monroeville High School in 1960.
Mrs. Papenfus was a member of the St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.
She enjoyed Bingo and trips to casinos, but her greatest joy was spending many hours with her
grandchildren and attending their numerous events.
On Nov. 13, 1965, she married Kenneth Papenfus at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clyde.
He survives along with two sons, Charles (Tracie) Papenfus and Gerald Papenfus, all of Fostoria; five
grandchildren, Charlie (Dani) Papenfus, VA; and Kasie Papenfus (Chris Salazar), Kurtis Papenfus, Dani
Papenfus and Cassi Papenfus, all of Fostoria; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Lily Papenfus;
brothers, David (Mary Jo) Schmitz, Clyde, and Thomas Schmitz, Union, KY; and sister, Gerri Brent,
Fostoria.
Judy was preceded in death by an infant son, Kurt Allen Papenfus and her parents.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until the Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. at
St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Fostoria.
Memorials may be made to COPD Research-American Lung or donor’s choice.
Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, is assisting the family with arrangements and
services.
