Juanita Lorena
Petersen, 91, of Hamler, Ohio, died Wednesday morning, April 23, 2014 at
Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green, Ohio.
She was born July 5, 1922
in Marion Township, Hamler, Ohio, to the late Rudolph F. and Alvina
(Bartels) Meyer. On September 29, 1940 she married Alfred Petersen and
he preceded her in death on November 1, 2008.
Juanita was a homemaker and very supportive farm wife to her husband and the family farm.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler and a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She
is survived by five children: Burdell (Anne) Petersen, Hamler; Roger
(Jane) Petersen, Hamler; Mary Ann (Larry) Walther, Deshler; James
(Sheryl) Petersen, Hamler and Annette (J. Randal) Rader, Deshler; 12
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren;
and brother: Ervin (Louise) Meyer, Napoleon, Ohio.
She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter and brothers, Raymond and Donald Meyer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler, with Rev.
Lindsay Shaner officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler and from 10 to 11
a.m. Monday at the church.
The family suggest memorials be given to St. John Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
