Joyce M. Mapes, age 84, of Millbury, OH, passed away on Sunday, February, 10, 2013 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson, FL.
She was born on November 26, 1928 in Woodville, OH, to Louella (Jacobs) Smith and was raised by her mother and step-father, Benjamin Smith. On April 4, 1948 she married James R. Mapes in Bowling Green, OH, and he preceded her in death on February 3, 1997.
Joyce was a homemaker and attended Sugar Ridge Community Church, Sugar Ridge, OH.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Marsha (Terry) Adkins of Surprise, AZ, and Becky (Al) Thurman of Bowling Green, OH; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and special friend, Don Snyder of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James Mapes.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Woodville, OH with funeral services being conducted on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. John Randall. Interment will be in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey, OH.
A bereavement luncheon will be served at the Troy-Webster American Legion Post #240, Luckey, OH immediately following the cemetery committal services.
Considerations for memorial contributions are Northeast Area Senior Center, Walbridge, OH.
