Joyce A. Hart, age 72, of Woodville, OH, a devoted daughter, and caring friend, passed away unexpectedly after a two week illness on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, OH.
She was born on November 28, 1940 in Luckey, OH to Ralph and Arlu (Layman) Monke.
Joyce graduated from Woodville High School then became a L.P.N. and worked at St. Charles Hospital. Later she became a medical records specialist and medical transcriptionist at St. Charles Hospital. She then worked as a manager of Toledo Medical Transcription and as a quality control specialist at Heartland Information Systems.
Joyce was a member of Solomon Lutheran Church, Woodville, OH. In her spare time she was an avid wildlife and animal advocate. She enjoyed traveling, with North Dakota being her favorite state because of family connections.
Joyce is survived by her aunts: Arlene Layman and Mary Layman, uncle: Willis Monke, cousins, friends in Ohio, Alabama, North Carolina and Florida including, Raylene, Raedell, Linda, Joan, Sharon, Carol, Evelyn, Gerry, Barb, Pam, Dave, Maddie and John.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents: Ralph and Arlu Monke.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Solomon Lutheran Church, Woodville, OH, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m.
A bereavement luncheon will be served at the church immediately following the funeral services.
Officiating will be Rev. Christina Ahlman. Interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. in Troy Twp. Cemetery, Luckey, OH.
Considerations for memorial contributions are to: National Wildlife Federation, Solomon Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
