Joshua Kenneth LaRoe, 24, of Bowling Green, OH passed away Monday, June 17, 2013.
Joshua was born on April 13, 1989 to Tracey (Heber) Vieira and Thomas LaRoe.
Growing up in rural Malinta, OH, Joshua attended Patrick Henry School through the 8th grade, and finished his high school at St. John's Jesuit, graduating in 2007. He continued his education at Northwest State Community College, receiving an Associates Degree in Computer Science in 2009, and was a spring 2013 graduate of Bowling Green State University with his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, while also serving a two year internship with First Solar. Josh had begun his Master's degree at BGSU and held an Assistantship while working in the Information Technology department. Joshua also served as President of Association of Computing Machinery with the university.
Joshua's passion was motorcycles, which he shared with his whole family. Always smiling and true to his name, he especially enjoyed joshing his grandmother.
Joshua is survived by his mother: Tracey (Randy) Vieira; father: Tom LaRoe; sister: Chelsea LaRoe; brother: Logan LaRoe; step-siblings: Jessica Vieira, Kera (Nate) Hayman, Lyndsay (Ian) Mueller, and Allysen Vieira; grandparents: Dawn LaRoe, Edward and Marsha Heber; Aunts and Uncles: David LaRoe, Sue (Jerry) Greene, Dr. Becky (Dr. Evan Stathulis) LaRoe, Tom (Peggy) Heber, Lorrie Briner; cousins: Marlow (Josh) Schwaiger, Ariel Briner, Katie Stathulis, Evan Stathulis, Peter Stathulis, Sarah Greene. He is also survived by his very special cousins: Michael Kolodziejczyk, Riley Kolodziejczyk, and Degan Schwaiger.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather: Kenneth LaRoe; great-grandfather: Robert Marlow; and great-grandmother: Beatrice Heber.
Friends and family will be received at the Wright-Habegger Funeral Home, 24084 W. Second Street, Grand Rapids, Ohio 43522, on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 12 to 4 p.m. Services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 4 p.m., also at Wright-Habegger Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions in Joshua's honor may be made to the Bowling Green State University Association of Computing Machinery or to the donor's choice.
