John F. Newby, age 57, of Maumee, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 7, 2009.
John was born in Marietta, Ohio on March 23, 1952 to Edward G. and Frances R. (Baker) Newby.
John was employed by the U.S. Post Office in Maumee as a letter carrier.
He enjoyed traveling and coaching the girl's softball league.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Alexander Greif) Newby; mother, Frances Newby; brothers, Thomas E. (Bonnie) Newby and William B. Newby; aunt, Alberta Lipp; former wife, Julie A. Newby; and brother-in-law, Tony Slusarski. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Katie, father, Edward, and aunt, Martha Love.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, September 11, 2009 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, OH. Interment will be private. www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
