John W. Hiser
John W. Hiser, age 88, of Pemberville, OH, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Bowling Green Manor, Bowling Green, OH.
He was born on April 25, 1925 in Bradner, OH, to Oscar and Gertrude (Clingo) Hiser. On August 25, 1951 he married Betty Jacobs in Angola, IN and she survives.
For 30 years John was a glassworker for Libbey Owens Ford, Rossford, OH.
He was a life member of Pemberville American Legion Freedom Post #183, Pemberville, OH. John served his country proudly while enlisted in the United States Army during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946.
John is survived by his wife: Betty, children: Dennis Hiser of Pemberville, Elizabeth Wurst of Pemberville, Scott (Dawn) Hiser of Bowling Green, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brothers: Robert Hiser of Gibsonburg, Jim Hiser of Bowling Green, sisters: Charmyne Kroeger and Donna Mae Hiser, both of Bowling Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Harold and Elmer Hiser.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 16, 2013 from 10 to11 a.m. at the Marsh Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, Ohio, where a memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. James Miller.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the family.
