John F. Minich, 66, of Bloomdale, OH, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, OH.
John was born August 15, 1946 in Fremont, OH, the son of Mick and Matilda (Nye) Minich.
John was a 1964 graduate of Lakota High School. He married Janice K. Harter October 22, 1966 in Fostoria, OH.
John worked for the Chrysler Corporation/Toledo Machining Plant in Perrysburg, OH for over 31 years, retiring in 1998.
John was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, the Fostoria Aerie Eagles #430, Knights of Pythias Grand Lodge of Bloomdale, a 30+ year member of the Bloomdale Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, and a proud and loving foster parent for over 25 years.
John liked wood-working, fishing, sprint car racing, mowing, camping, bus trips with family and friends and Country and Western music. He was also very handy and could fix about anything.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Minich of Bloomdale; children, Jennifer Artressia of Findlay, Andrew (Jolene) Minich, Thomas (Jennifer) Minich , Bart (Rhonda) Ervin, all of Bloomdale; 10 grandchildren, Samantha, Autumn, Austin, Anthony, Kayla, Tyler, Hunter, Keri, Gavin, and Brody; and brother, Ralph J. Minich of Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul and Carl Minich.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, June 26 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Rev. Matthew Rader will be officiating.
