Joan Lutton Bartrum, 85, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away on January 5, 2014.
Joan was born on October 14, 1928 to the late Lloyd and Helene Hurrelbrink.
She graduated from Burnham High School in Sylvania, Ohio on May 10, 1946 and married Jack Lutton
of Delta, Ohio on October 16, 1948. He preceded her in May 1996.
Joan married Edison "Polly" Bartrum of North Baltimore on December 18, 1977 and lived on his
farm on Potter road until his death in July of 2005.
Left to cherish her memories are her surviving children, Joy Lutton of Vail, Colorado, Barry Lutton of
Ft. Myers, Florida, Steven and Alan Lutton of Lacey, Washington, and David Lutton of Los Angeles,
California,
4 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister, Peggy Schmeltz of Bowling Green, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Joan was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed cooking and baking. Her hobbies included knitting,
genealogy, sewing, ceramics, and quilting. Her sewing skills and creativity earned her numerous awards
for her work.
She was a charter member of the Black Swamp Quilters Guild from 1989 to 2008. Joan was also a member of
the Mt. Ararat Investment Club from 1980 to 2011. She enjoyed sailing on Lake Erie and road trips to the
Amish Country, the mountains of Colorado, and Traverse City.
Her big brown eyes, gentle smile and spontaneous laughter will be remembered by all. She was a kind,
caring and selfless person who showed compassion for everyone. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial gathering will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions in Joan’s name may be gifted to Bridge Hospice Care Center or the Wood County
Library.
