Jimmie R. "Jim" Baney of Cygnet, Ohio, went to be with his Lord on the morning of Tuesday, October 20, 2009.
He was born to Roger and Frances Baney on June 12th, 1937.
He grew up in North Baltimore, Ohio and married Barbara Tyson, his wife of 54 years, on June 17, 1955 and she survives. They raised their family in North Baltimore, Ohio before moving to the country near Cygnet, Ohio, upon retirement.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Barbara; five children, Beth (Richard) Bowers, Joni (Raymond) Clark, Jim (Beverly) Baney, Judy (James) Barringer, Jeff (Nikki) Baney; 12 grandchildren, Jeni McMahan, Troy Bowers, Tara Lawrence, Amanda Solether, Mike Clark, Ryan Clark, Kari Clark, Andrew Baney, Chris Baney, Beverly Girdler, Wyatt Baney, and Ashytn Baney; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jimmy Barringer.
He graduated from North Baltimore High School in 1955 where he excelled as an all-state athlete.
He worked as a Tool and Die maker at Brush Wellman, Inc for 40 years, before retiring in 1999.
He was affiliated with the Basic Truth Christian Church, Cygnet, Ohio.
He loved sports, music, and the outdoors. His hobbies included fishing, working outdoors with his tractor, camping, and hunting.
He was a man who accomplished many things in his life, but he will be remembered most as a man of great humility, integrity, generosity, and kindness. He treated everyone with respect and friendship, and was loved and respected by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him well.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, family, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in North Baltimore, Ohio.
Visitation will be Friday, October 23, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in North Baltimore, Ohio.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Basic Truth Christian Church, 12233 Tank Farm Rd., Cygnet, OH 43413.
