Jeffrey Lynn “Otis” Mathias
Jeffrey Lynn “Otis” Mathias, 56, of North Baltimore, passed away at 7:58 a.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
He was born on January 24, 1957 to the late Simon and Janet (Niswander) Mathias in Bowling Green, OH.
He is survived by two daughters: Shelley (Jeffery) Kline of Deshler and Amy (Ryan) Mathias of Fostoria; three step-sons: Ronald (Veronica) Beckford of Cygnet, Rodney (Tonia) Beckford of Cygnet and Jody (Vicki) Beckford of Youngsville, LA; two brothers: Mark Mathias of Findlay and Ed Mathias of North Baltimore; one sister: Jackie Biller of North Baltimore; four grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Mathias.
Otis loved to coon hunt and enjoyed coon dog water racing. He belonged to the Coon Hunters Club in Portage. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, Cleveland Indians baseball, Cleveland Browns football, playing softball and woodworking. Fishing was one of his favorite hobbies. His number 1 favorite pastime was spending time with his family, whom he loved.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, with Reverend Donald Goodwin officiating.  Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Township.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
Memorial contributions may be made to Home Away from Home and/or Smith-Crates Funeral Home.
