She attended Church Street Elementary School and graduated from Bowling Green High School. She was office manager of Kahl Brothers Printing in Toledo, Ohio until her retirement.
On October 9, 1981 she married Lloyd Gross of Toledo and they subsequently moved to Brooksville, Florida. Jane loved to travel and found joy in gardening, painting florals, and decorating. As an accomplished singer, she also enjoyed singing with her "Senior Group" in Florida around the holidays. But most of all, she thoroughly took pleasure in attending fly-ins with her husband, a B-17 pilot in WWII, who had been flying since he was a boy of fifteen years old.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Gross; her parents, Bess and Clyde McKenzie Sr.; her sister, Delabel Bollinger, her brothers, Allen McKenzie and Clyde McKenzie Jr.; and her step-son, Daryl Gross.
She is survived by her daughter Terry (Ed) Morrison of Rutledge, Georgia; step-daughter, Renee Gross of Elmore, Ohio; step-son, Roger Gross of Elmore, Ohio; sister, Charlotte (Joanne) Dubbs of Tarpon Springs, Florida; brother, Roger (Jayne) McKenzie of Bowling Green, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Jane's caregivers at Otterbein Village Assisted Living, Pemberville, Ohio and Bridge Hospice Care Center at Heritage Corner, Bowling Green, Ohio.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, May 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. at DUNN FUNERAL HOME located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street. Rev Meg Knape will officiate.
