James W. Wensink, 88, Palmetto, Fla., passed away on May 31, 2012 at home with family.
He was born June 12, 1923 in Deshler, Ohio, and moved to Florida in 1974.
He was a decorated Air Force pilot in WWII, lifetime member of American Legion Post 305 and Knights of Columbus. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, daughter, Carol, sister, Rita, six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held June 4 at Manasota Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Oneco, Florida. The funeral was held June 5 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Palmetto.

Carol and Helen-sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I guess I knew he was in failing health. He is in better hands now with the Lord. He will never suffer again and will wait for his family to meet him again someday. What a wonderful husband, dad and grand-dad, he will be missed by all. I am saying a prayer for you all. Through him we pray.

Helen, Carol and family; Very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a fine man and a great American. I have many fond memories of him. May he rest in peace----Al Lance

Thank you so much for the words of comfort expressed to our family. I think that mom will be in Ohio sometime this summer to visit all her friends.
