James Leroy Titler, 71, Northpoint, formerly of Punxsutawney, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the home of his daughter, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 28, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio, a son of the late Kenneth Leroy and Roberta Jane (Miller) Titler.
On October 1, 1960 he married the former Velva Louise Wood. She survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Connie Jordan and husband Timothy of Northpoint, Cheryl Curley and husband Roger of Reynoldsville, and Cindy Shiock and husband Dave of Reynoldsville; six grandchildren, LeAnn Meyer, Debbie Gouldthread, Amy Jo McCombs, Jill Curley, Jacob and Luke Shiock; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Jean Chapman of Milton Center, Ohio.
Preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Deborah Titler, two sisters, Bonnie Fortney and Kathy Carver.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Center Hill Community Church, Knoxdale, officiated by Pastor Guy Felmlee. Interment will follow at Circle Hill Cemetery.
