J-S-hreben-obit-photoJ. Scott Hreben, 58, formerly of Perrysburg, OH, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at his home in South Lebanon, OH.
He was born on August 27, 1953, to John and Eileen (DeBarr) Hreben in Toledo Ohio.
Scott was a 1971 graduate of Rossford High School. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology from Ohio Northern University and later he received his Master's Degree from Bowling Green State University.
He was a teacher for over 34 years serving most of that time at Perrysburg High School teaching in Architecture and Photography retiring in March of 2009. Scott was a winning coach, and devoted teacher and mentor. He coached wrestling at Perrysburg High School, Otsego High School, Findlay High School, Findlay College and Lebanon High School. Scott was also an avid Harley motorcyclist.
Scott is survived by his wife, Jill (Ebersole) Hreben; children, Ryan S. Hreben of Oregon, OH., Kyle S. Hreben of Cincinnati, OH., Lauryn E. Hreben of Bowling Green, OH., and Shelby B. Gumpf of Cincinnati, OH.; mother, Eileen Hreben; brothers, John, Mark, Toby and Ty Hreben; sister, Lori Hafner and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Hreben.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012 at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. S. Boundary St. Perrysburg, Ohio, 43551 (419-874-3133) where a Memorial Service will be held on, Saturday, May 26, 2012, at 10 a.m. with Reverend Eric Lane officiating.
In lieu of flowers those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Perrysburg Schools Foundation, Big Brothers, 230 North 13th Street Philadelphia, PA 19107, or Sojourner Recovery Services, 314 N. Erie Highway Hamilton, OH 45011.
