Irene J. Poling, 81, of Bowling Green and formerly of North Baltimore, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
Irene was born in Milton Center to the late Emmit and Nellie (Tolles) Trumbull. She married Glen Poling on September 21, 1950 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and he preceded her in death in 1976.
Irene is survived by her children: Glenda (Larry) O’Brien of Pemberville, Randy Poling of Bowling Green, Sandra (George) Rife of Weston, David (Pam) Poling of Waterville, Carol McMackin of Nashville, Tennessee and Merri (Robert) Keefe of Nashua, New Hampshire; sisters: Pauline Dilsaver of Bowling Green and Lois Weaver of Stanton, Michigan; brothers: Ronald (Sharon) Trumbull of Weston, Merle (Jane) Trumbull of Bradner and Larry (Kay) Trumbull of Milton Center; 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Sue Poling of Toledo.
She was preceded in death by her son, Glenn; five brothers; one sister; her granddaughter, Stacy and a great-grandson, Floyd.
Irene was a member of the Village View Church of Christ in Bowling Green, the Wood County Senior Citizens Center, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Irene enjoyed doing ceramics, crossword puzzles and loved spending time with her family, especially with her brothers and sisters, who all made it a point to get together at least once a month for dinner.
Visitation for Irene will be held on Thursday October 3, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the LOOMIS-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 20375 Taylor St., Weston, Ohio 419-669-0504.
Irene’s funeral service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Village View Church of Christ, 801 W. Poe Road, Bowling Green, OH 43402. Burial will follow in the Milton Township Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Wood County Hospital Nurses, Bridge Hospice and Wood Haven Health Care for the compassionate care they showed Irene and her family.
