Howard Lee Strow, 81, of Custar, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014, surrounded by his loving
family.
Howard was born on June 29, 1932 in Weston, Ohio, to the late Floyd and Opal (Long) Strow.
He received his education at Weston and Milton Twp. Schools and graduated from Perrysburg High School. He
married Doris (Wise) Strow, on September 2, 1951 at the Church of Christ in Custar, and she survives him
in Custar, Ohio.
After graduation, Howard worked as a welder at the Daybrook Hydraulic Company, in Bowling Green, and The
Shipyards in Toledo, Ohio.
Howard was a lifelong farmer as well as a lifetime fireman with the Milton Township Fire Department.
Howard also enjoyed restoring antique cars and tractors. Howard and his wife enjoyed hunting and fishing
in Colorado, Wyoming and Michigan.
Along with his wife Doris, Howard is survived by his daughter: Shelly Wright, of Delaware, Ohio; sons:
Thomas (Ying) Strow of Wisconsin; Randy (Bettina) Strow, of Bowling Green, Ohio; Rex (Laura) Strow, of
Custar, Ohio; grandchildren: Tommy, Dean, Craig, Tyler, Ryan and Rylee; a stepgrandson: Kenneth;
great-grandchildren: Kiana, Matthew, McKenna and Luke and a stepgreat-grandchild Phoenix; a sister:
Marilyn Simmons, of Columbus, Ohio; and a brother: Gary (Kathy) Strow of Illinois.
Howard was a wonderful father and husband; he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will
be missed dearly.
Visitation for Howard will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with a
Fireman’s Last Call Service beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME &
CREMATORY, 1460 W. Wooster Street/P.O. Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402, Tele: 419-352-2171.
Howard’s funeral will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME
REMEMBRANCE CHAPEL.
Interment will follow in the Milton Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Howard’s honor may be given to the Milton Township Fire Department, 9395 Milton
