Howard E. Kroeger, 80, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013.
Howard was born in Gibsonburg, Ohio to the late Edward A. and Lauretta (Maylam) Kroeger. He married Charmyne (Hiser) Kroeger in Angola, Indiana on June 25, 1955 and she survives him in Bowling Green.
Howard was a graduate of Gibsonburg High School and after graduation he attended the Minneapolis Lutheran Bible College. Howard was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Bowling Green, where his strong Christian faith was shared by being very active in the church and assisting with administering communion for members who were not able to attend church.
Howard served his country proud in the United States Army, he was a member of the American Legion Post 254 in Rockport, Indiana and a former member of the Bowling Green Eagles and VFW.
Howard worked for the City of Bowling Green Water Department. After retirement, he enjoyed serving as a crossing guard for the children attending Bowling Green City Schools.
Howard was a true family man; he enjoyed spending time with his family and being a part of their lives. Howard was also an avid OSU Buckeye's football and basketball fan and was a huge fan of the Bowling Green State University Falcon Hockey Team.
Along with his wife Charmyne, Howard is survived by his three daughters: Karen (Douglas) Sharp, of Bowling Green; Karol (Dennis) Lamb, of Bowling Green; Kendra (David) Crouch, of Hatfield, Indiana; a son: Keith (Sue) Kroeger, of Westerville, Ohio; eight grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Florence Hines of Alpena, Michigan.
Along with his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his daughter Karlene Kroeger on September 28, 1971 and a brother and sister.
Visitation for Howard will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the time of his Memorial Service at 11 a.m. in the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 315 South College Drive, Bowling Green, Ohio, with Pastor Henry Seibert officiating.
A Memorial Luncheon will be served immediately following the service in the church Family Life Center.

Memorial donations in Howard's honor may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church Debt Reduction Fund or the charity of the donor's choice.
