Herman E. "Gene" Pennington Sr., age 78, of North Baltimore, died at the Bridge Hospice Care
Center in Bowling Green on Saturday, April 5, 2014.
He was born on March 5, 1936 to the late Shady and Sena Mae (Cole) Pennington. He married Edna Evans on
May 12, 1954 and she preceded him in death in November of 1995.
He is survived by: son, Herman E. "Gene" (Ruth) Pennington Jr. of Cygnet and daughter, Regena
(Richard) Nickols of North Baltimore; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two
great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donetta Smith, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, four
brothers and two sisters.
Gene had retired as a truck driver after more than 30 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor
David Boswell officiating.
Burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Twp.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
