Helen Inez Smith, 93, of Bowling Green, went home to her Lord and Savior and her dearly missed family on
Sunday, April 6, 2014.
She was born on June 9, 1920 to Earl and Mary (Schilling) Barton. On March 27, 1939 she married Eugene R.
Smith in Auburn, IN and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2004.
Helen was a member of the Village View Church of Christ. She enjoyed playing cards and cooking and was
loved for her cookies.
Helen worked for over 13 years at Chrysler in Perrysburg. Earlier she worked for many years at Deshler
Products and helped out on the family farm.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Eugene D. (Carolyn) Smith, son-in-law Gary Kidd, her grandchildren
Abigail (Richard) Welch, Sara (Bernard) Blasius, Mary Kidd and Elizabeth Kidd, and her
great-grandchildren Michael and William (Alexandra) Blasius and Bethany and Nathan Welch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Eileen Kidd, her brothers, Harold, Edward and Ross
Barton and her sister, Ruby Herman.
Friends and family are invited to call upon Helen’s family on Friday April 11, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at
the Peinert Dunn Funeral Home 18620 Washington St. Tontogany, OH.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Village View Church of Christ in Bowling Green.
Burial will follow services at the Weston Cemetery.
