Hazel Hackworth-Woodbury, 84, of McClure, OH passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
Hazel was born July 21, 1928 to the late John and Melvin Conley in Salyersville, KY. Besides her parents, Hazel was also preceded in death by her husbands: Rev. Woodrow Hackworth, whom Hazel married on November 26, 1943 and Virgil Woodbury; daughter: Rissie Hackworth; sons: JR Hackworth and Rev. John Hackworth; daughter-in-law: Phyllis Hackworth; grandson: John Roger Hackworth Jr.
Hazel is survived by her children: Carolyn (Bob) Babcock of McClure, OH; Floyd (Lila) Hackworth of Minford, OH; Mike (Donna) Hackworth of Weston, OH; and Ellen (Chuck) Treen of Grand Rapids, OH; daughter-in-law: Janet Hackworth; grandchildren: Rhonda, Terri, Craig, Ronnie, Matt, Michelle, Jennifer, Lisa, Tammy, Jeremy, Amanda, Jacob, Jonathon, Joey, Nathan; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Hazel was an avid gardener, enjoyed growing vegetables and reading her Bible. Hazel was active in Rose of Sharon United Baptist Church. Her true passion was her family.
Visitation for Hazel will be held at Wright-Habegger Funeral Home, 24084 W. Second St., Grand Rapids, OH 43522 on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday also at Wright-Habegger Funeral Home. Rev. Bernard Twinam will be officiating.
Memorial contributions in Hazel’s honor may be made to Cherry Street Mission or Salvation Army.
