Hal D. "Ducky" Foster, age 62, of Wayne, Ohio passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved
ones, on Sunday (March 30, 2014) at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green, Ohio.
He was born on September 3, 1951 to the late Wayne and Frances (Sawyer) Foster in Findlay, Ohio. Hal
married his loving wife of 24 years, Kathy Zahler, on July 8, 1989 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Surviving Hal are his wife, Kathy; sons, Brian (Julie Kauffman and daughter Savannah) Foster of
Risingsun, and Zach Foster of Wayne; daughters, Niki (Tony) Tyson of San Francisco, California and
Jessie Foster of Bowling Green; best friend, Ron Frankforther (Fostoria); brother, Doug (Beverly) Foster
of Bowling Green; sisters, Sally Copus of Mermill, Norma Sage of Bradner, Marge Miller of Bowling Green,
Connie Reinhart of Mesa, Arizona; sisters-in-law Mary Foster of Bowling Green, and Pat Foster of Luckey;
special nieces and nephews and special family dog, Petey.
Hal was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Frances; brothers, Howard, Arthur and Dick Foster;
sister, Donna Kriston.
Hal was a 1969 graduate of Elmwood High School.
Following graduation, he worked for the family-owned Foster Duck Farm in Wayne, eventually becoming a
co-owner. After his time at the duck farm, Hal moved on to become a farmer and truck driver.
During his free time, Ducky enjoyed woodworking, farming, tending to his lawn, working on cars, and
spending happy times with his family and friends.
Friends will be received on Thursday (April 3, 2014) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne,
Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday (April 4, 2014) at 11 a.m. with
Minister John Amstutz officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in West Millgrove, Ohio.
Immediately following there will be a bereavement luncheon at the Wayne Church of Christ.
Memorial donations may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice in Bowling Green, Ohio, or the Denise
Youngs Memorial Fund.
