Gregory Scott Duty, 55, of Chesapeake, Va., went to be with the Lord Monday, February 18, 2013 with his family by his side.
Greg was born June 6, 1957 in Bowling Green, Ohio, to Gerald L. and Joyce Harmeyer Duty.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He later worked as a sheet metal journeyman for 32 years. He was a member of River Oak Church.
Including his parents, Greg is survived by his wife, Doris Ann Duty; a daughter, Christina Taylor and husband Donny; a step-daughter, Kelly Flanagan and fiancée Paul; a step-son, Scott Flanagan and wife Mikaela; grandsons, Camden and Brycen Taylor; brothers, Kevin Duty and Randy Duty.
He loved his brothers-in-law, Michael Rizor and Terry Rizor and was predeceased by a brother, Steven Duty.
Greg's life will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. Pastor Heath Burris and Michael Rizor will officiate.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gregory S. Duty Memorial Fund C/O Monarch Bank, 1034 Battlefield Blvd., South, Chesapeake, VA 23322.
