GraceUrie ObitGrace L. Urie, 85, of Waterville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
She was born on January 9, 1928 in Troy Township to William Henry and Martha Marie Carolyn (Geldien) Rickels. She married John D. Urie on July 26, 1958.
Grace loved to tend to her garden which included roses and several fruit trees. She was an avid reader and took pleasure in various puzzles including Sudoku. Grace enjoyed quilting, embroidery and crocheting as well as cooking. She also played the organ.
Grace is survived by her loving children, Lisa M. Urie, Craig D. (Dawn A.) Urie, step-grandchildren, Hannah E. Rickels, Heather E. Rickels and Brian W. Rickels, nephews, Richard F. Rickels, Robert E. (Theresa) Rickels, niece, Sandra L. (Richard) Runge and cousin, Betty J. Tompkins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha, husband, John, son, Todd D. Urie, brother, Paul W. (Marion) Rickels and nephew, Gary W. Rickels.
Friends will be received on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133), where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 10 a.m. Burial will be held privately at Wakeman Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
