Gerald “Fuzz” Abke, age 70, of Pemberville, OH passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 25, 2013.
He was born on May 27, 1942 in Pemberville, OH to Willard and Mildred (Davidter) Abke. On June 18, 1965 he married Cheryle “Sherry” Snare in Pemberville and she survives.
Fuzz was owner and operator of Abke Trucking, Inc, Pemberville for over 35 years.
He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pemberville, and the church dartball team.
In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with family and grandchildren, golfing and traveling. Fuzz loved his trucks and the drivers who drove them.
Fuzz is survived by his loving wife of 47 years: Sherry, children: Todd (Angela) Abke of Avon, IN, Renee (Phillip) Farmer of Pemberville, grandchildren: Sierra, Rory, Quinten and Cheyenne, sisters: Delores Moore of Florida and Joanne (James) Moncrief of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Willard “Flatbottom” and Mildred “Mildew” Abke.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. from Bethlehem Lutheran Church Pemberville, OH, where there will be additional visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew Musteric. Interment will be in Pemberville Cemetery, Pemberville, OH.
There will be a bereavement luncheon served at the church immediately following the cemetery committal services.
Memorial contributions may be directed to: Bethlehem Lutheran Church, American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
