Geneva Emans, 92, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013.
Geneva was born in Gilboa, Ohio, to the late Arlie and Hazel (Harman) Stainbrook. She married Russell L. Emans on March 14, 1942, and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2010.
Geneva is survived by her daughter: Carol (Dave) Crandall, of Van Buren, Ohio; grandchildren: Cammy Rogers; Bryan Emans; Christie (David) Saltzman; Scott (Cathy) Smith; three great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Geneva was preceded in death by a son: Paul Emans on April 25, 2012; a brother: Gene Stainbrook; and a sister: Pauline Kidd.
Geneva was a graduate of the Crawfis College High School, after graduation Geneva went on to work for Westinghouse during WWII. Geneva also worked for many years as a store clerk in Defiance and for Kesslers Department Store, in Bowling Green. Geneva spent most of her life as a homemaker taking care of her family.
Geneva was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green, she loved gardening, reading, bird watching and cooking.
Visitation for Geneva will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1460 W. Wooster Street/P.O. Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402, Tele: 419-352-2171. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1506 E. Wooster Street, Bowling Green, Ohio, with Pastor Tom Moyer officiating. A Memorial Luncheon will be served in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. in the Harman Cemetery, Gilboa, Ohio.
Memorial donations may be made in Geneva's honor to the Griswold Home Care, P.O. Box 863, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402 or to the Sight Center of N.W. Ohio, 1002 Garden Lake Parkway, Toledo, Ohio 43614, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
