Gene Askins, 84, of Bowling Green, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013.
Gene was born in Rimer, Ohio to the late John and Flossie (Heidebaugh) Askins. He married Nancy Courtney on November 26, 1960 at St. John's Catholic Church in Lima and she survives in Bowling Green.
Also surviving are his two daughters: Toni Makley of Bowling Green and Tracy Byrd of Cape Coral, Florida; four grandchildren; and a brother, Vernon Askins of Putnam County.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Wendell and sisters: Ruth and Ardatha.
Gene was a farmer for 40 years and enjoyed going to the Wood County Senior Citizen Center in Bowling Green.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and was also a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bowling Green.
Services for Gene will be private.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Gene's honor to the Wood County Senior Citizens Center.
